To ‘tell’ the story behind Spain’s first wine tourism initiative, Haciendas de España, CUBE arranged a press trip with Daily Telegraph wine writer Jonathan Ray.

The press trip, which included a visit to Spain’s newest D.O. Arribes del Duero, took in three Hacienda de España wine hotels and boutique wineries in north-west Spain. The itinerary includes wine spa treatments, vertical tastings, national park visits and a private river cruise on the Duero river.

Following the press trip, CUBE liaised with the Daily Telegraph and created a consumer competition to win a trip to the Haciendas in Spain. In addition, CUBE built and managed the competition website, which also included a link to the Haciendas website which included a mixed case wine offer.

Results:
• The resulting coverage reached 862,966 Daily Telegraph readers
• On-line coverage received 1.4 million ‘hits’
• The competition received 2,383 entrants
