CUBE was commissioned to produce a magazine for the G19 group of producers by the Portuguese Trade Office after a competitive pitch involving two publishing houses. The brief was to communicate the heritage, quality and diversity of Portugal’s still wines to a ‘fresh’ but targeted UK audience, whilst conveying a modern spirit and style. |

The resulting 36pp magazine, introduced by Oz Clarke, was poly-bagged with The Evening Standard’s ES Magazine and with Food & Travel magazine. The essence of the copy and pictures was wine and tourism, but given a fresh, ‘lifestyle’ feel so often lacking in consumer-focused wine promotions. A pull-out Buyer’s Guide made it useful as well as informative.
The result was a cost-effective media with wide reach that could be referenced throughout the year as a guide to the Wines of Portugal. |
